Hard Disk Speed Analyzer

Strange program. I run it on any of my 10K SCSI drives at it seems to work fine. 60K-ish with about 25% CPU utilization.

Run it on my 15K SCSI drive and utilization stays under 3%, only does a few tracks with a speed of under 1K, and my drive makes a strange high pitched sound I've never heard before. (not a seek sound)

The only difference in the setup of the drives is the 15K is set as a Dynamic Disk in XP.

All other benchmark programs behave normally.

woohoo! something in place of hdtach! (which wont let me use it cuz i'm runnin 2k 😛)

hrm... whenever the door closing/opening sound plays on aim, the speed drops to around 25mb/s for an instant... weird...
