hard disk size not correct

Hey I bought a WesternDigital 80 GIG hard disk from COmpUsa. My dad was messing around with it a while back and now when i added into my computer it registers as being 33 gigs instead of 80. I reformatted it , made it FAT 32, deleted the current partition, but it still registers as being 33 gigs. How can I set this hard disk to 80 gigs, like it is supposed to be. BTW, I use a 40 gig as my boot, this 80 is registered as a slave, has jumper. THanks!

what o/s, and how old it the computer? are you sure the jumpers on slave or maybe slave and limit to 32gb capacity

It is WIndows XP prof, the comp is about 2 years old. MSI k7t266 pro 2 mobo, Jumper is on the 80 gig is set to slave, other is set to primary boot.
