Dear Anantech readers,

I have a dual boot system of windows xp and windows server 2003. I install windows xp first on my
maxtor 80GB diamonmax 9 plus. I install the maxblast 3 and format another maxtor 160 gb of the same
model. I formated it to NTFS using default settings. Windows xp can access the device normally. However,
in windows 2003 sees the drive as not being formated(with raw file system). I can't install maxblast 3 on windows 2003 server. Have anybody encounter this problem ?

You're installing a 3rd party drive overlay software. All bets are off. Overlays are the worst thing you can do to a disk without a magnet and a hammer.

Why the hell are you using maxblast? take that crap off, and I'll bet it'll work fine.

Update... I finally got this problem sorted out. The reason to format using maxblast is to get better usage closer to 160 gb. Unfortunatelly Maxblast is not installable to windows 2003. I had to format from windows 2003 twice to get both os sees the drive. I had disabled recycle bin for that drive because I will sharing that drive for both OS. Thanks guys for your input.

Best Regards,

John
