Im trying to find a solution for my friend thats having problems fixing a bad sector on his hard drive. This is the info i have so far and will update later on this evening.

The bad cluster is causing crashes

when he runs scan disk to repair, computer crashes on restart

Computer crashes at any attempt to scan it

dont know the error messages but will get that to u asap.
 
Did you test out the memory with memtest86 ???

I have had bad memory (the slot actually, not the memory strip itself)
write garbage to the drive which caused crashes.
