hard disk fried !! =(

man i never expect this to happen...
first i saw sparks...then came the smoke...it just happen...i was using the pc in the moring and it ran alright...
and then when i on it in the afternoon...it happened...
it's a Quantum 15gb (5400rpm)...just got a brand new maxtor 40gb 7200rpm...
if i want to make sure that the drive i got is indeed a 7200rpm drive...what should i do ?

well if it matches up with the model numbers that are 7200 RPM then it should be 7200 RPM. benchmarking it will help has well.
