yes they work, if you get a decent one. depending on your hard drive, they most likely will be of no use though

Hard disk coolers will make your hard drives last a lot longer. I am going to buy one real soon.

I'm using the CoolMaster 4002 now. Great cooler, easy to clean, but hard to install.
