Hi all I would first just like to say that the 9800np is an awesome deal and i got it for 275 can shipped (was suposed to be a pro but oh well, great price either way). I have been reading that the infineon ram is garbage, and ofcourse mine has it :) Now before I ask I am currently clocked at 400/330 up from 325/290, and am wondering if my Thermaltake Heatpipe and if I get some OCZ Ramsinks will help the infineon hit minimum 350. Has anyone used sinks on infineon with any success??

Thanks in advance

Read and understand the entire post before you go off on someone. :|

Considering $275 Canadian is roughly $210 US dollars and he got the 9800NP for that shipped...then yeah, that's A HELLUVA DEAL.

I got a 9800NP in the CC deal a few weeks back and it's got Infineon RAM on it that can do 380/325. I am sure the core can go higher than 380, but I get graphics corruption on anything higher than around 330. Most of with Infineon RAM can even go as high as 330, so you've got a pretty good OC right now.

You might try checking THIS OUT. There is a link to a modded BIOS for those of us with Infineon RAM that increases the core/memory to 380/325. Supposedly, this BIOS relaxes the memory timings, so you might be able to increase the RAM even more.

I've read about people who have done with no problems. Since you can make it to 380/340, I don't think it would be a problem. You do need to backup the original BIOS so you can restore it if the modded one causes artifacts, corruption, etc.

Not to mention if he ever needs to RMA the card for warranty service (provided it wasn't the o/c that caused the damage of course).

Just a quick update. I'm currently at 432/330 with no artifacts. Is this safe with stock cooling??? I think I'm gonna have to get some ramsinks and put on my heatpipe now, but temps are ok according to my thermal probe on my nexus that I put on the card

I've been able to get my sapphire 9800NP to 452/411 before artifacting with only a bios flash (stock cooling)-keep trying ;)
