To all those that have served. Whether you agree or not agree with me politically, spiritually, or morally, from one patriotic brother to another and sister. Happy Veterans Day.

Thanks you.

The wife and I are going to the Marine Corps birthday ball tonight to celebrate the 242nd birthday. She's overly excited as always.

thanks for acknowledging our sacrifices no matter how small.

Every time I'm out and about and I see a veteran and it's non-intrusive I shake their hand and thank them for their service. I've heard some pretty incredible stories.

In my town there's a tradition where about 4 trucks with bells go around the neighborhoods in the early morning hours. I was outside again this time to catch that somber sound with a coffee and smoke in hand and I couldn't help but shed a tear. I mean, I shed a tear every time I hear the Star Spangled Banner. :(

:)

Just heard Mike Pence's speech. Pretty powerful.

I don't mind the hand shake. I don't tell stories though. If it wasn't for this damn tattoo I'd get talked to less.

Wife hired someone to come do her makeup, upstairs with her now. She bought some new hair, ugh costing a fortune when counting the dress. But she says its "grown up prom" and makes her happy, so I'm ok with it.

I'm supposed to be doing homework while waiting, but I keep getting distracted as usual.

Woman love to dance. Well, at least almost every single one I've ran across. I've actually always wanted to learn how to swing dance like this.

I think that would be awesome! LOL

As far as stories, I can see how that can be an issue. I actually met this former Sailor that served on the USS Missouri while Emperor Hirohito was singing his surrender.

My mom works at a nursing home and I've been meaning to visit with some WWII vets there. There's not too many anymore.

Semper Fi, Mac. Have a great time. I went to the birthday ball at Camp Lejune once after I got home from...fabulous time...but it used to always be on the 10th...

Anyway, while I guess I appreciate the intent of the well-wishers...IMO, today really isn't one of those "Happy" days...and not really appropriate for the myriad of sales for every-fucking-thing.

I can agree with that. It seems like every little holiday is an excuse to say we marked down our shit that was already marked up 4x or more already!

This year has been an overload of veteran appreciation. There's been a notable and significant increase in shout outs on social media, discounts and incentives from stores and general acknowledgment.

I can't really express happiness about this because of the political circumstances driving the recognition.

Yep, I didn't go eat anywhere but bought another safe at Academy Sports, extra 10% off the sales prices.

I have never been to a Marine Corps birthday ball that was not on a Saturday. Yes Nov 10th is when the Marine Corps came alive, but its not always on a Saturday. Its usually the Saturday before or after the 10th. As it was this Saturday, Veterans Day, was not a bad day to have it. Just one day off.

Wife and I. I could barely move my neck, or raise my arms over my head. Blues were VERY tight in the chest/back/shoulders.

Thanks, she's absolutely gorgeous. Even better on the inside. 36 but could pass for 25 I think. Amazing body, thick thighs and big booty. Very lucky to be her husband.

It can be hard, she's been great through it. Actually thinking about signing a 3 year contract now for the IR. Close to having 20, we'll see.

to be fair, I only did it for the college money.
And I still dont have my fookin degree. Or a job.
I hate classroom learning but its considered normal and requisite for a decent job.

Only smart decision I ever made as a teenager was to join. They hooked me on early enlistment 2 months before I graduated high school so I was able to go in as an E3 right off the bat. They gave me far more than I deserved for 4 years of service, with the old GI Bill I was entitled to 45 months of benefits as long as I was a full time student and the GI mortgage is how we bought our first house.
