This is the Canadian Thanksgiving long weekend.

I also would like to extend a pre-Happy Thanksgiving to all the Americans on here. I am sure this thread can apply to you guys, too. :)

This will be a lonely one for me due to self-isolating.

For this year I am having thick pork chops, stuffing and mixed vegetables on Sunday.

I also won't be posting after Sunday as I will be prepping for surgery on Tuesday. I will post again Wednesday or Thursday.

:D

I am also thankful for having a caring family, for being given this opportunity to get excellent health care and for the great people on AT who both make me laugh and get mad. Having all of this is what I am most thankful for.

Stuffed. French Vanilla ice cream turned out well, so did the red (Adzuki) bean one, except the red bean one was rock solid. Had to scrape.

Maybe should have used a chisel and mallet.

Happy Thanksgiving to you too.

Gobble gobble!

I'm honestly not even sure what our plans are. My dad is in the hospital out of town and my mom is with him, there's been a bit of complications, so we're kinda not in a position or mood to have a dinner. My sister might still make one though, so we're kind of going to play it by ear I guess.

Worse case scenario I will order myself a chicken poutine. I guess that's the closest thing to turkey right? I mean chicken is a bird, and poutine has gravy. :p

sorry to hear about your father. Hospitals here in Ontario are in crisis mode again.

Yeah hoping everything works out. Kinda sucks for my mom since as much as she is there for him, she can't actually go in the hospital to see him. He was there for back surgery which as far as I know went well but now he has an issue with his prostate, which is unrelated. So hoping it's nothing too bad, he's suppose to see an urologist tomorrow.

In a way he did get lucky he could even get that surgery though as they are probably starting to cancel non emergency surgery again. He's been hurting for a while now and this should fix him.

I hope everything goes well with him.

I have been waiting since December for surgery.

Hoping your dad's doing well and your mom too. That waiting game is never easy.

Got back from turkey dinner. We were not sure if we'd end up having one this year because of my dad but my sister made a dinner anyway. My dad is at home resting but he is doing a bit better now. Still not 100%.
