in 18 minutes it will be....

actually, pi day is 7/22... i never understood how math majors and the like chose 3/14 to be pi day... especially when the year doesn't end in '15

Pi Day and Pi Approximation Day are two unofficial holidays held to celebrate the mathematical constant p (Pi). Pi Day is observed on March 14; Pi Approximation Day may be observed on any of several dates, most often July 22 (22/7 - in European date format - is a popular approximation of p).

I don't get why people use 22/7 as an approximation of pi. It's only accurate to three decimals, and 3.14159 isn't hard to memorize at all

it just seems like 22/7 would be a more fitting date... due to the slash, mainly
