Its already Good Friday here. The Easter weekend is here and the celebrating has started.

Although its considered THE most important Christian celebration, I find it odd that we celebrate the death of Christ. Friday is the day of his crucifiction and Sunday is considered the day he rose from the dead. Shouldn't we mourn his death on Friday and Celebrate his rising from the dead on Sunday?

I thought that was the way it worked. We went to church on friday evening for the depressing sermon. Then on Sunday it was all about celebration of Christ's ressurection. Then we ate candy.

LOL.

Usually we got an emotional, look at the brightside of things, sermon condeming the Romans and Pilate for crucifying Christ.

what a waste of a holiday.

I'm going out with my (ex-Catholic) friends to a nice steak house to eat veal and lamb; afterwards, I'm trying to convince them to go laugh at Jesus Chainsaw Massacre with me. they want to hit the poolhall and do some gambling and drinking.

I don't really have anything against Christianity (raised by agnostics... I can't really tell the differences between *any* religions, to be honest), but I'll take any excuse to induldge in some, erm, indulgences.
