*Edit*
Oh another "Hispanic heritage" thing...
So tell me this... these people were Mayans and Aztecs or whatever, Spain invaded and they forgot their religion, their language, their names, everything. So what heritage are they celebrating???
Made up holiday?
I think he's referring to the fact that Mexicans don't really celebrate this holiday all that much. More than anything else it's a USA excuse to drink cheap tequila.

Amature hour.. just like St. Patty's day, celebrated by people who don't even know the significance of what they're celebrating and perpetuated by liquor companies.
I think it's appalling that a lot of companies and school districts ignore Veteran's Day but make a big deal out of this stupid Mexican holiday.
If this was P&N, you would have a fool justify that inconsistency with the following:
"Veterans' Day glorifies the evils of nationalism, militarism and capitalist imperialism. With Cinco de Mayo, we celebrate our nation's strength through diversity."
I despise our overly politically correct society sometimes...

No one in Mexico celebrates this.. it's basically an excuse for white people to drink sub-par tequila and eat tex-mex food.
Only 11 posts before some blowhard gets uppity about CDM? I'm disappointed in you ATOT.I think it's appalling that a lot of companies and school districts ignore Veteran's Day but make a big deal out of this stupid Mexican holiday.
Thought it was decided mayo was out?
