Just had my reunion dinner.... WAY too much food for the few of us...
Tomorrow is red packet day... hehe.. Have to put up with the distant relatives but hey... there's money involved... :)

anyway, just wanted to wish everyone a happy chinese new year. 2 day holiday in my country! woohoo!!

Mmmmm.... lemme go find some more of that dessert (sweet yams... wait. they call it taro in the US... er.. mashed, fried and then frozen. :) absolutely delicious....)

Bleh, no red packets for me, all my rellies live in China :(.

That said, We did have a nice dinner and spent about 2 hrs phoning all the said relatives since we have discovered a suprisingly cheap international calling card ($10AUD for basically 2 hrs which translates to $2.50 USD/hr which is DAMN cheap).

Well, its now officially Chinese New Year for me cos of time zones and stuff so HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

My wife and I got invited to a Chinese New Year celebration tonight.

I've never been to one, should I go and what should I expect?

They are having it at a temple. Also, are there many non-Asians there?

Well... where are you located?
What should you expect.. i guess lots of people who are happy and celebrating ?? :)

No idea if there will be non-asians there. :p

But just think of it positively and go and learn about our culture. Bring a pair of mandarin oranges if u can find some. :)
