I was just too tired to bother going online. My mom had neurosurgery to correct a dural arteriovenous fistula on tuesday night. I've been spending most of my time at hospitals since saturday. I'm heading back to the ICU at OHSU in a little while to see how she is doing. Hopefully, she'll get released from the ICU today and will be back in a normal room for a few days before going home.

I'm heading back to the ICU at OHSU in a little while to see how she is doing. Hopefully, she'll get released from the ICU today and will be back in a normal room for a few days before going home.

Wow, sorry to hear that. I hope she gets better. This warrants a whole additional thread.

Thanks. It's been pretty scary. She was fine a month ago, then she started getting headaches, vertigo, couldn't stay awake (she fell asleep at work and while driving). They couldn't figure out what was wrong with her until my Dad took her into the hospital and they finally did an MRI of her head. Her doctor didn't even think to check her brain. His last test before the hospitalization was for Lyme disease (she was exposed to it in May from a tick bite). I asked her three weeks ago if they'd done an MRI of her brain. Of course, they hadn't and didn't do it after that either. You'd think her doctor would have been smart enough to think of it if it was that obvious to someone like me. :roll:
