It's good that Google chose to commemorate it on their site, rather than something trivial like the liberation of Europe.

I actually hadn't read about the history of Tetris before. I had assumed it was invented by Nintendo, but I guess they were just the one who popularized it. Kind of sucks that so many companies profited off the guy's game and yet he got so little.
