Bonne fête, Canada, mon pays adoré, le meilleur pays du monde, un exemple pour tous malgré ses quelques petits défauts! Je suis si fier d'être Canadien! :)

I know this place is where I am,
No other place is better then.
No matter where I go I am,
Proud to be Canadian!

I love this country where I am,
This land is where I make my stand.
No other heart is truer than
The one we call Canadian!

Here's a pic of our flag I took in November 2009 near the old American embassy on Wellington Street, opposite Parliament, shortly before sundown.:)

It's like election creep.

We could move ours to late June. Or just make such a big deal out of Flag Day (Day? FLAG WEEK!!!) that by the time July 1st rolls around, nobody cares anymore.

Happy Canada Day!

I spent the morning lumberjacking up a tree stump from the front yard with an axe. Later I'm gonna have some bison steak.

Why are these British soldiers in Canada? Is it an invasion?
they are actually part of Canada's Military.

changing of the guard ceremony is a daily thing and a tourist attraction:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=68VjzYEOdAk

The primary and most visible function of the Ceremonial Guard is, as mentioned, the Changing the Guard on Parliament Hill in Ottawa, Ontario, the national capital of Canada. The Changing the Guard Ceremony is a parade representing the changing of the guards posted at Rideau Hall, the official residence of the Canadian monarch when in Ottawa, and her representative, the Governor General, in her absence. A full company of two platoons is employed in daily public duties, with both divisions of one platoon parading as the 'new guard' – those to take over duties at Rideau Hall – and the other platoon of the company split, one division parading as 'old guard', and the other performing sentry duties at Rideau Hall and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier for the day.

It's also looking like they're gonna announce an 8th season of Trailer Park Boys this week. An epic time for Canada indeed.

Nothing beats fireworks going off at 3am...

I so wanted to set off some fireworks, would have been a blast. They're illegal here though. :( Our city was not going to have fireworks this year due to lack of money but last minute a businessman donated. It's crazy expensive to have fireworks, like 20 grand for like 10 minutes of fireworks.
