I'm really impressed with this Anandtech forum and community!

It's a collection of us old geezers who have been computer enthusiasts from the "beginning" and a bunch of young people who breath life into forum and who challenge us all on a daily basis. It kind of reminds me of my research lab and the young and older folks that I dearly enjoy every day!🙂

Believe me, when you support these DC basic research projects with your hardware, time and electricity, you are making a difference!

Yes, some of us are old enough to be your grandfathers, but we were building computers and writing code while you were still in diapers!!:shocked:

Yes, I do still have most of my teeth but I lost a couple in a snowmobile accident when I was a teenager! That damn barbed wire fence came out of nowhere!

Well, I have to second that :beer: (both thoughts) 😛

and good luck on the smoking thing. I quit 22 yrs ago. It was maybe the hardest thing I ever did but I guarantee you it is worth it. :thumbsup:

I'll be 56 in May. I quit pot in '97. It took longer to quit smoking altogether. I quit all but a social cigerette every now and then about a year ago. I'm to the point that I can't smoke now. That first drag makes me so nausous that I almost puke now. It's a good feeling, and I'm riding a bicycle to help with weight loss. It's good to see there are still lots of people our age who are in to computers. Have a good day.

I'm taking my familiy back to the homeland in ND in June. I haven't been back in 15 years or so. Tell me GLeeM, can I expect ice on the outdoor swimming pool at the hotel in Fargo in late June???

Usually no ice in late June, possible light frost. Don't know about this year though -- we haven't had temps above 30's yet and it is almost April :| With global warming causing this mini ice age, anything goes 😕 brrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!

PS: DO bring the long johns - can't take them off until the 4th of July and then put them back on on the 5th 😛

I have a slide rule on the shelf three feet away.

The "Blaster Crew" at work uses left over punch cards as scratch paper to keep card game scores on :laugh:
