Try this

Someone bought it for me over Christmas and it's actually kind of fun. It's like Rock Band, only using a real guitar instead of those stupid 5 button toy things.

I actually tried the first one a while back, never really got into it. The whole interface seemed backwards to me, so the cable got tossed in a closet and hasn't been pulled out since. Might have to give it another try.

That's absolutely false. Jimmy Page STOLE nearly everything.

E.G.: the Leveee song is a cover of an original Negro blues song authored by Memphis Minnie. Etc Etc.

The lz guys got rich stealing the creative originality of American Negro bluesmen, and selling it right back to AMerican youth. Jimmy Page is a slimeball IP thief.

those have always been considered traditional tunes. Public Domain. You might as well call Pete Seager a thief.

Or Doc Watson. Or Sam Bush

Or every folk and blues singer that has ever lived. Or Carl Perkins, or Elvis, or Muddy Waters.

Your perspective is both naive and narrow.

They've been showing "The Song Remains the Same" on the Palladia channel lately and Page is simply awesome. Great band.

Excellent post BTW. Thanks for sharing.

I'm going to call you out on this, because that is flat out wrong. "IP Thievery" did not exist until sometime around the late 70's when lawyers started running the music industry.

etc etc etc CUTOUT FOR BREVITY

I respect your point of view, however pitifully uninformed.

In general, the American Negroes were fucked over royally by Englishmen who stole their originality, rocked it up and SOLD IT RIGHT BACK to stupid young AMERICANS who didn't know that what they were buying was stolen from American Negroes. Like rich people everywhere, the ledzep guys get away with it STILL.

If the forum of their blatant IP theivery was shifted from "music" to "software design," then all 4 ledzep assholes would be in prison for life. THEY STOLE!!!!

Early 1900s Negroes had almost zero domains within which they could exercise creative freedom, and BLUE MUSIC was one of the only areas. Go read up on Docker Farm.

Brits OUTRIGHT STOLE IT, rocked it up and enriched their fat and uncommonly U G L Y asses selling that American Negro creativity right back down the throats of clueless American youth.

Jimmy Page FAMOUSLY, NOTORIOUSLY traveled SEVERAL TIMES all over the Mississippi delta trying to eek out more American Negro music from older times that he could steal. Last time that my friends down there told me they saw him traveling through AGAIN was circa 2008 or thereabouts. Maybe that means we can expect something "new" from EXTREME ASSHOLE Jimmy Paige in future (if he found something new).

Of all members of ledzep, Jimmy Paige is most heinous IP thief of all. On behalf of "The Chocolate Watchband" whose guitar riffs the truly ugly Jimmy Page STOLE to aggrandize his ugly ass in Stairway to Heaven. So he got away with it, got rich, and EVERYBODY makes way for the RICH MAN. (But he stole it, so why?)

Again....and I know this is hard for you to grasp....you're applying today's world to the way things used to be. If you went back to 1800 and told a plantation owner that slavery is wrong, he would look at you at say "What are you talking about? This is just the way things are!" If you went back to 1890 and said "Why can't women vote?", they would have said "What are you talking about?"

This is the same deal. All musicians...EVERYWHERE...took bits and pieces of everyone else's music and made it their own. It wasn't a big deal until big money started coming in. I know there's websites out there devoted to this very topic, but it's truly a case of applying later morality on earlier times.

I love the "uninformed" comment too. Very cute.
