Got this in an email from them. Don't know anything about Hanns-G TV's but if it is as nice as their $100 19" LCD monitors it's probably a decent deal. Has an ATSC/NTSC/QAM tuner and 3(!) HDMI inputs.

Man, LCDs are really coming down. WTF is the deal with plasmas and their stuck-up prices? Have seen few (if any) 42" under $1300, and then it's usually some PM/YMMV deal (or it's a POS TV).

Does anyone really know if the TV not being 1080p and 37 inch's makes a difference. I've heard that it doesen't makes a difference if the TV is not 1080p if the TV is under 42 inch's. I have heard the opposite also that it does make a difference in the viewing quality
Thanks for your help

If you're using it as a PC monitor, it could make a difference. But for normal TV watching, 1080p is not the first thing to look for - true contrast ratio is much more important. LCDs have always had a problem with deep blacks and viewing angles compared to plasmas or CRT's.

Specs are pretty good on this tv, imho. 1000:1 contrast ratio, with brightness of 500, and response time of 8ms, should make a good tv or pc monitor. Add to that the 3x hdmi inputs, and the pc monitor input (with a monitor cable added......nice touch!), and it seems like an excellent deal! :)

Oh yeah, and viewing angle's not as good as I've seen on some higher end lcd's, but a 170 degree viewing angle is nothing to sneeze at, for sure!
