There's two different models of "Famous Brand" (Hanns-G in the pics) LCDs on sale at Tigerdirect, one of them looks suspiciously like one of those models on sale at PC Connection a while back. Both are analog dsub 17" 1280x1024, 12ms response, crappy integrated speakers, 169 before rebates, 99 after. Rebates expire 2/28/07...

Monitor #1 (Hanns-G HU171A?)

Monitor #2 (Hanns-G HC174A?)

Some people may have had problems with Tigerdirect and/or Hanns-G / Hannstar rebates so... Good luck. My roomate bought one. We'll see.

Tiger Direct? Good bloody luck.
I'll say.
I am going to put my 2 cents in because i bought two of these Hann monitors (19") in August of 2006. One 19" Hann from PCConnection that used OnRebate for the 100.00 rebate and another 19" Hann from Office Depot that used RebatesHQ.com for my other 100.00 rebate. The Onrebate (which is a TD affiliate) usually has the expedited rebate process where they process the rebate faster for a small fee. In my case it was 9.00 out of the 100.00. I processed my rebate online to get the tracking number. I sent in the paperwork with the UPC code and the receipt. It was received by Onrebate and noted by email within a week. 5 days later I had 91.00 in my Paypal accout. That's 12 days from filing until I got my money.

Now the OD/RebatesHQ rebate was another story. After two months I called when it didn't show up on the website. I called and they said they never received it and I had to resubmit by fax to start the process again. To make a long story shorter, t took nearly 4 months and repeated phone calls and emails to get my 100.00. RebatesHQ is not the rebate house you want to handle this Hann rebate. The ones who are handling these particular two rebates are Onrebate and you do stand a better chance of getting this in a timely manner that the other alternative. You can check this fiasco from the August rebates at Fatwallet, as there is a humongous thread about the hardships with RebatesHQ.com. Apparently many people were also told by RebatesHQ.com that their rebates were never received. Actually, my last three rebates to RebatesHQ.com had to be submitted by fax as they claimed they never received them. Now what are the odds of that?
