There is nothing in this movie to spoil, unless you consider "it sucks" to be a spoiler.

Rented it this weekend. This is a crapfest beyond all forgiveness. It started out with some promise (the whole WWII part), but quickly degenerates into some of the most absurd acting in the history of cinema. Apparently the director thinks that a geeky metrosexual glowering under his eyebrows while wearing a slight smirk is the scariest image ever, because you get to see it in every single freaking frame. Completely forget about the plot - there comes a point that when a plot has so many holes, it ceases to be a plot. There are no scares. There are no chills. There are no thrills. All that there is to be seen is a great movie franchise being dragged through the lowest parts of the sewage treatment facility.

I didn't think it was THAT bad. It wasn't great by any means, but I thought it was kind of cool how you learn why he became the way he was. I also liked how they made you actually feel sorry for Hannibal (or atleast tried to make you feel that way). I've definitely seen movies a lot worse than that one.

I agree with pur. By far not one of the better movies in the Hannibal series, but it wasn't that bad. I thought it was very interesting to see where he came from and how he developed into the cannibalistic pyscho that he was. Yes, it definately could have been better, but I'd say it's a 5/10.

Saw it over the weekend and was surprised that it was not quite as bad as I expected. I won't be recommending it to people or anything if that counts for a review.

The book was lame, and you know how the movies are never as good as the book? .... so you can draw your own conclusion on this movie :)

It was pretty good actually did you understand this was a prequel to Hannibal. The only thing about it considering it's a prequel there are a lot of things in the movie that you don't hear about in the original Hannibal. When people decide to do a prequel they sometimes want both movies to "mesh". But the movie was quite disturbing that was the other thing.

I too saw it over the weekend. The movie is terrible. Please don't watch this movie. Honestly, it sucks beyond comprehension.

Since we're on the subject of this series, can anybody tells me how "Silence of the Lambs" ends? I just watched it tonight, but my DVD totally crapped out in the last 10 minutes. Last I saw, Claurice made it into the psycho's house and chased him downstairs to the basement.

"Silence" ends with the capture of Buffalo Bill and Starling's graduation from the FBI academy. The movie concludes with a phone call from Hannibal who has disguised himself and looks to be somewhere in the Caribbean. While discreetly looking over at Dr. Chilton, he tells Clarice that he will be "having an old friend for dinner."

hate to thread necro, but i saw this on showtime HD the other day and didn't think my doing that warranted it's own thread.

I thought it was a damn good movie as well, seeing how he came into his own and all the shitty shit that happened to him in his younger years that caused it was pretty cool

I agree with pur as well. It wasn't a great film but not so bad it wasn't even worth watching at least once.
