I just got in on this deal here at tigerdirect Link

I did regular ground shipping and it came in 2 days! It has no dead pixels and 8ms is awesome for all games including halflife oblivion and bf2. It looks wayyy better in person. Its the best LCD Ive ever bought and I own 4. Dont miss this one guys, oh and if you pay 5 bucks extra, you are guaranteeed to get your rebate within 2 weeks if you mail it in before your alotted time. Mines already on the way.

I know what alot say about the rebates, but TD has really shaped up with thier rebates since being sued. Even if you dont get it, 260 bucks for this monitor is well worth it.

I got in on this in Feb for the same price. It is a great monitor, and it does look better than the pics, not that I care. Your looking at the LCD not the case.

You mean because the bezel is round on the bottom? Or maybe it doesn't have silver trim? IAC, nondescript is ideal, IMO. But does it have an internal power supply? I have too many extra PS transformers as it is. Those separate transformers almost kill the advantage of a compact display.

As long as the plug is not integrated into the power brick itself, I don't see a problem with it. I've had 3 LCD's before that had an external power brick and DC input - I just put the power brick behind the desk, and out of the way. The thinner DC cable made it easier to fish through the cable hole in my desk. My new monitor has an internal power converter - IMO it just adds heat, and can potentially reduce the sleek factor.

I got this deal..and I LOVE the monitor. The DVI is very nice...I just hope that Tiger Direct gives me my rebate...After I made the purchase, I read all kinds of bad reviews about them actually giving back your rebate...Other than that, the monitor is fabulous!

You should see the pile and tangle behind the desk right now. You are right that the big problem is when they put the AC prongs right on the transformer. They don't make power strips with enough slots when you already have 4 transformer plugs. Until I saw one LCD monitor with a built in PS, I didn't know they made them.

I was thinking someone who owned this monitor would know how it is. They don't like to show the cords in any computer ads. It doesn't look so elegant.

IAC, I notice on the TigerDirect site, scrolling down near the bottom, "what is in the box" does not show an external transformer. There's a VGA cable, a DVI cable, a 120V cable, and an audio cable (I think.)

The over 230 reviews are all 5 out 5 ratings but four which gave it 4 out of 5. Is this for real?

Shipping would be around $18 for me.

it was 17 shipping, came in 2 days for me, and yes this monitor rocks.. internal transformer.. nice and clean and bright

I've been trying to hold out for an 8-bit panel but it seems like all the deals on LCDs are 6-bit. Have there been any hot deals on 8-bit panels? I'm thinking maybe I'll just settle for a 6-bit one.

The picture is different and the model number is different. Tiger Direct is HN199D. PC connection is HU-196D. The pictures on the rebate forms ($20 + $90) are identical to the one at Tiger Direct though. (???) It may or may not be the same panel in a different case. It may or may not have the cables with it. Some one that bought one will have to say.

Anybody have real pictures of it. PC connection or TD model? Because it does look real ugly...have u seen their website? Uhgggh.

I have the HU-196D from PC Connection and they look pretty much identical. The hannsg website seems to show a silver bexel but they look almost identical. Black and rounded corners. They are a bit fugly, but for the price I am living with it and the monitor is pretty nice. It is growing on me actually. BTW, I would trust PC Connection any day over Tigerdirect.
