Hangs @ "Verifying DMI Pool Data..."

:disgust:I've had a DFI 586ITBD (TX) mo'bd for a few years that has options for SIMMs or SDRAM DIMMs. With DIMMs so cheap I switched & system i.e. POST only recognized 16M & hung @ "Verifying DMI Pool Data.....". Switched back & still hangs @ same. Reset CMOS twice, changed positions of chips etc. Won't boot from floppy or CD or... Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thx.
