Basically the problem is that the computer will randomly hang only when winamp is running. I am using a duron 600 overclocked to 900 at 1.7 volts on a kt7 non raid. I am using the latest via 4in1 drivers, have the newest version of winamp. I tried sonique as well with no success. I'll be able to play games, run benchmarks, etc. just whenever i play a mp3, at some point in time the computer will hang. Any suggestions?

hehe i dont think thats the problem in this case as i can run through stuff like 3dmark2000 without a problem and do practically everything else on the comp except play music. Besides, not overclocking a duron is just wrong 8)

I'm pretty sure that the card doesnt have any irq conflicts but i'll probably check them again when i get home. thanks for the suggestion though.

What RAM and what settings? You really need to include more of your specs and what you have tried. Otherwise it's a toss up.

ram- infineon pci133 running at fast setting with 4 way interleave on the kt7 bios. Have checked irq's no conflicts that i could tell. Will check irq's again. hardware, duron 600 --> 900 at 1.7 volts. two hard drives(maxtor's assorted size ata33), kt7 mobo, the infineon ram, hercules prophet 2 mx, diamond mx300, 2 run of the mill nic's. sound card has the latest drivers i could find from diamond. Have installed latest via 4in1 drivers. Running windows ME. System has performed stable in all other functions other than playing music. Going to try declocking to 600 tonight and seeing what it will do.

What fsb speed? Try turning it down a notch if overclocked. Try another MP3 player also. Winamp might just be wiggy with some other program. I get better results with Music Match Juke Box myself. Sounds better IMO.

I am not up on the KT7 bios. I'd check Here because they are more likely to have a better idea.

Good luck
