hanging posters...

what do you do to hang posters so they don't get crapped to hell when you have to take em off?

Just curious.. i hate it when the corners get all crappy. I dont' wanna go buy another one (especially if its harder to find).

1. frame them.
or
2. use putty to put them on the wall instead of tape

edit: great minds think alike, but some type faster...

There is an adhesive that is something like lsilly puddy that wont ruin the paper of the poster or the paint on the wall. If all else fails you can get cheap poster frames so you dont have to poke hole through the corners of the poster.😛

Damn two people beat me, I type too slow!

If you want to keep it, frame it. I have two framed Viper posters on my walls, they cost me ~$40 each including the cost of the print. That's with my choice of frame stock, non-glare acetate, etc. You can do it for much cheaper, but it won't be as nice.

Hello. I understand what you're saying; you hate it when you go to take the tape off that's holding up the poster and the whole thing rips right in half. You can use push-pins in the corners...that would just make a small hole in each corner...almost invisible. Or you could mount the poster in a frame. Just some thoughts.

<< Put some scotch tape over the front and back of the corners to distrubute the load then stick pins through the tape. >>

Great Idea and cheap too!

oooh i hate that too. this is what i learned to do while living in the dorms. stick tape on the back side of your poster so the sticky side is stuck onto the poster. then loop the tape so it's sticky on all sides (or get double sided tape) and then tape the poster to the wall using the parts of the poster that u have protected with tape. i hope that wasn't too confusing but the end result is when you take your poster off the tape is stuck to the tape on the poster. it's easier to pull off and doesn't tear your poster!

i know. that was prolly confusing hehe...

sticky tac works pretty good. i don't want to chance ruining my "preciousssssssssss" Lord of the Rings posters with tape!

yeah, i was thinking of slapping them inbetween to pieces of thin plex.. it just becomes sort of a pain to move around.. dem some big plexi.

Now that i think about it, i've seen "frames" for posters.. basically plastic clips that clip on to the poster, and then hang the plastic...

ViperGTS: I took a picture of a black viper rt/10 w/ an s10 i had, blew it up to 8x10, and framed it 🙂 I have the picture of me in the drivers seat... but from where the viper was parked, too many other cars in the way.

The poster store should sell these little edge things. They stick to the edges of the poster and don't mess it up at all...Also, the weight on the bottom edge makes it hang down

like bomberman said. go to a poster store in your local mall, and they should sell little plastic things that slide over the top and bottom edge of the poster. the one on top has a string to hang up the poster, and the bottom one keeps your poster nice and flat so theres less glare on your poster from lights. THey wont hurt your poster, and are much cheaper than frames.

I use this silk tape that a friend gets from the hospital, it sticks real well and comes off real easy.. costs the hospital like $3 per 100ft roll..

I just had all my posters frames... man it's expensive but it makes them look so much better and now I don't have to worry about 'em. Make sure that if you do have them framed, spend a little extra for the dry mounting--it keeps them from bubbling.
