You to install a prace to hang from. Install the brace between two cieling beams. If you don't want to tear up your ceiling too much you can get braces that expand when you twist, allowing you to use a smaller hole.

I used to have one hung in my basement, rafters exposed. Used about a 2-3 inch long screw with an eyelet at the end, something heavy duty. Ran that thing all the way into the rafter and i could hang the punching bag and myself on it and still not have it budge. I would suggest something similar with this idea, however you will just have to use a studfinder and see if you can determine where the rafters are in the ceiling. As long as you hit one you will be fine, stick a little putty in there when you take it down and no one will know it was there.

A hook? I'm kind of confused to the problem here.

Use this to anchor it to the ceiling and then use a steel ring clip of some sort that clips onto that and onto the 3 or 4 chains that come up from the bag. That will hold it...

There's many different sizes of those things you have to pick what you need.

Get a good sized eye hook from home Dept and put it in one of the over head joists.

make sure you get a joist! Drywall will fail.

Umm, well ,that's the type of thing he wants. This part won't work thoguh:
"Load limit 4 lbs."

He needs those, just alot bigger.

Yep, Matvey got it. A 3/8" screw hook will do the job. Should only be about $2.00 at the local hardware store. Uh, it goes into a joist. Just thought that should be mentioned. :D

You're probably better off with one that stands on the floor, unless you want to install a skylight (which are nice).

i'd be more paranoid and strengthen whatever it attaches to. means u gotta have attic acess or use the garage. damaging house for a silly punching bag is stupid.

Simply trying to give an illustration since he asked about a specific device after I already tried to explain the device in my previous post. Most certainly need a bigger duty one than the linked eyehook but gives a picture of what to look for.
