Handy-men of atot, help me find a tool...

I need an open wrench to get into a really tight vertical space.

I see these all over the place: http://www.bing.com/shopping/7pc-metric-pivot-ratcheting-wrench-set/p/887267354B31D0CD5006?q=pivoting+wrench&lpq=pivoting%20wrench&FORM=HURE

They pivot just like I need them, but I need the open side to pivot, not the closed side. Why does nobody make a pivoting wrench? I have a basin wrench, but that is too big for the nut I am trying to get to.

edit: ordered these: http://www.amazon.com/Danaher-Group...5MJA/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1314628258&sr=8-2

What do you mean by a really tight vertical space? If it's a slot of some kind I can't imagine how a pivoting wrench would help. Can you provide a picture of what you are working on or something similar from the Internet?

Would a crowfoot wrench with an adjustable head ratchet work?

Click the link in the OP. It is to a pic of a flexible ratchet wrench (same as the wrench you described). OP wants a wrench where the crescent side is adjustable, not the ratchet side.

I'm trying to tighten the nut that holds our new reverse osmosis faucet in place underneath the sink. I only have about 2 inches to work with horizontally, and I need to reach up about a foot to get to it.

Not the same as the wrench I described at all. He was talking about a ratcheting wrench. I'm talking about a crowfoot wrench on a ratchet.

Yep, figured I misunderstood when the OP said that what you described might be a good fit for his project.

Snap on makes a good set of wratcheting crescent wrenches.

A simple socket wrench with an extension wouldn't work?

Like that?

doesn't the basin wrench close completely? maybe you just need a different one

edit: nevermind, thought you said the nut was too small

they don't sell smaller basin wrenches?

Yes! That picture on the left in your first link is almost exactly what I'm trying to do. (except I'm trying to just get a nut on that secures the RO faucet to the sink) I've done these before, but this sink is tighter than any I've worked with.. I can't even get my hand up into the space.

I might pick up one of those in addition to a crows foot wrench
