Hands on experience with 3Ware's SATA drive cages?

Im gonna be setting up a cheapo storage box, and since capacity/cost is the most important part, a S-ATA RAID array makes the most sense.
Anyways, Im probably gonna go with 8 Barracuda 7200.7's and a 3Ware 8506-8 card, and 2 3Ware RDC cages.
And a good chassi to put these cages in of course 🙂

Anyways, Im just wondering if anyone has any hands on experience with doing something like this?
How well the hotswap capability works?
Any other issues I might run into?

The box is gonna be running Linux, most likely RedHat 8.0.

Just asking before I go ahead and buy all these drives, since my boss is gonna want my head on a platter if it doesn't work 🙂
