I need a new power supply for my computer i plan on going sli in the future for now im just running a 6800GT with FX-55 power and i overclock so i need solid rails. quiet is nice since i watercool my system but most important is the quality. Price is no concern if you know of another great power supply (thats not overkill) that i should add post and ill add to the poll
links to products for more information:

Seasonic S12 600watt
OCZ Powerstream 600
Enermax Noisetaker 600watt
Silverstone 650watt
Antec True550 EPS12V
PC P&C Turbo-Cool 510 Sli

i left ouy the PC power supply due to its very loud ive heard but i'll add it, remember im on watercooling so the power supply is the loudest fan in my case. ill add the antec but the antec is in a different price bracket at 120 dollars compared to the 160-200 of the other power supplies.

Honestly, I was one of those cheap PSU people until i got a PC Power & Cooling in a trade while looking for parts for my new PC. I don't think I will ever buy another company's PSU after owning this one. I run a full gaming rig with some moderate overclocking off of the 410w Silencer (18A stated on the 12v rail) and it gives me no problems at all, and the rails are nice & stable according to my mobo software.

So, I voted PCP&C because if I was building your rig that is what I would put in it without a question.

im happy with my 480watt modstream now, im running a FX-55 and a single 6800GT on the DFI board overclocking memory at 3.2 volts and CPU at 1.7 volts 12x250FSB 2225 1T perfectly stable but i plan on changing cases to either a stacker of lian-li v1200 and want to get a new power supply for when i get another 6800GT

edit, and i never used the word "best" im just looking for one that will work they will all probably work thats the reason for a poll- seeing everyone elses opinion

Those are all good PSUs. I'd put the Enermax and the Seasonic tied at the top. They've both got dual 18A 12V rails. My feeling is that the Enermax may be slightly better but the Seasonic would be slightly quieter (along with cheaper) and still an excellent PSU, so I'd get the Seasonic.

I would get the Seasonic. It's probably the best besides the PCP&C, but they are very loud. There has to be like a Delta or a Tornado in there.

I would go with PC P&C because i own three of their power supplies and has never failed or damaged m stuff during storms or anything else

holy crap, do the 12 people who voted for PC P&P even own a PC P&P i was reading and its 48-52db which is the same as a delta tornado. i thought if it was like 40db that would be pretty loud for a power supply, i should water cool that thing :p. maybe i could do some 7volts mod or something thats so loud

Quality wise the PC P&P would get my vote, but noisey. The seasonics are supposed to be pretty quiet, so that might be your best choice. I also really like enermax, got a 350w and a 460w and they have both worked great for me. I was able to overclock a 2.8 prescott to 3.5ghz, with 2x36 gig raptors and a 6800GT on the 350w enermax. Enermax has some nice hefty 12v rails.

I would never buy any of those. Not only are they pricey, but they are rated at far above what even a powerful gaming system will draw. 300-350W is fine for most good rigs, 400W may be for the most powerful... but having 500W+ is just ridiculous - the efficiency will be poor and that translates to MUCH more HEAT.

i'm going to have to disagree with you there. Sure a 400W is powerful enough to power a decent gaming system but when you overclock, a good power supply is absolutely necessary. I noticed a lower overclock on my 6800ultra (different computer) when i changed out a 3200+ winchester for an FX-55. i assume this problem is partial to the FX-55 using more power. A 6800ultra draws between 80-120 watts from a power supply, so if you have two of those running sli thats already 240watts, add a 90watt FX-55 and your already over 300 watts. plus these power supplys dont put out the rated watts unless under perfect conditions Lastly its always better to have a little too much than not enough. i will agree than 300-350 is fine for most good rigs aka A64 chip, 6800GT or less, 2 hard drives, ect. but when your powering watercooling, and 2 video cards with an FX-55 and overclocking 300-350 won't cut it

for $139 shipped at ewiz.com the Seasonic 600w is the best deal...

I have the 430 w Seasonic which I got for $83 shipped.

the OCZ and Antec are good, but overpriced...

the P&C is good too... not sure on pricing.

Seasonic without doubt.......

Most efficient and supplies the most even power without variation while being perhaps the quietest P/S also.

The way I see it is: All these PSU's will deliver the power and stability needed so that's not something to worry about. Then you have to look for what seperates them from eachother. And for that the Seasonic wins IMHO. Lowest noise, highest efficiency and full range voltage input.
