handheld scanners?

My better half is looking for a handheld scanner (similar to the Logitech Scanman color 2000). This will be pluged into a notebook computer. A USB device is preferred, followed closely by a PCMCIA device. A shet feed device will not work.

Do they still make items like this?

Last one I had was about 10 years ago. They were terrible to use . . . required an extremely steady hand and a uniform slide rate to do any good. OCR was impossible - - typing was faster.

If you really want one, your best bet is to check E-Bay for it.
