1] rotate top link on x axis 90 deg and push to middle corner nook of c bend. (might need to rotate 45 deg so flat side lays in nook)

2] rotate lower link around z axis 180 deg

3] slide lower link through opening.


took me 15 sec to see solution. took me way longer to paint it.

A for effort with the paint but they don't slide through like I think you're describing.
