Spam will probably never stop just because spam seems to work. Apparently enough people are buying whatever they are selling that it worth it for them to keep on spamming us.
So I was thinking, seeing as to how many hot deals have killed servers because of the Anandtech effect, I wonder if the same idea can be applied to spammers. I figure if 10,000 people try to access whatever site they are advertising and don't buy anything, it might add some additional cost for what they would have assumed to be free advertisement. I'm sure if someone was motivated enough, he/she could probably write a program that continuously hammered the site. Granted I'm sure that would run into legality issues.
