In reading some of the various design documents regarding AMD's upcoming Hammer architechture, the flexibility of the HyperTransport technology really peaked my interest. I thought it would be quite easy to build large Linux-based clusters. The picture shows one idea I had for a 16 CPU workstation with 4 Clusters that could each handle a monitor, IDE RAID Array, etc.... I thought it would be great for graphics design, What do you think? Maybe some of you folks who are more in the know about this topic than me can shed some light on the possibility of such a system or one similar!
