If arrogant, ignorant behavior online were a punishable offense, you'd be on death row. Felony Blowhardism! Off with his typing fingers!

Ah, the fury of an idiot who just realized he was wrong and got called out on being wrong... As an American you could never admit to being wrong, of course, but rather you have to follow the path set by Trumpists and deflect and insult without even touching the subject at hand.

Also, dipshit, you didn't answer my question... If it was your niece, would you still dismiss her "plight" and hope that justice was never done so the perp could keep his career or does this just apply when you don't know the female victim?

I don't expect you to be honest, I doubt you have the ability...

You could take a second and look at your own preconceptions for a second or more. (tell me again the difference between a silencer and suppressor? I have never read you back down from *anything* on these forums, I guess you just are just that perfect.)
I guess the grey area right here is that we have .. what do you call it "indecent exposure"? - and not a full onset rape-fest cosby style.

I find myself very confused. Why does he do this? Why didn't someone put a stop to it earlier and finally why were people so deeply disturbed when he did it as opposed to finding it mildly funny but mostly sad?

He's sick and needs help... sounds like maybe he is getting some. And also his kids! Geez! Can you imagine what his children are going through seeing that in the NY times?

Seems like he has a problem, always asked for consent first (and got it, though maybe sarcastically/jokingly and took it wrong), and hopefully he gets help. Until it comes out that he molested children and attempted to rape one or more women, don't pin this guy to the wall.

I only saw one who agree in the NY Times article.

I found this summary on reddit. 1 and 2 seem like "innocent" mistakes. 3 is screwed up (maybe he answered the phone while masturbating), but he eventually owned up to it. 4, same deal, but a bit more screwed up that he got her mixed up with some other girl he may have "shoved in a bathroom." Without the whole story, though, you really can't draw any conclusions. At this point, he's not in the same league as Kevin Spacey, yet one here called for jail and others elsewhere would love to see his career end. Pretty harsh for what are so far non-criminal actions.

1)

Period: late 90s

Involved: Anonymous woman (early 20s) (working on a production he was involved with)

Incident: During production on "The Chris Rock Show" (she worked in production)~he asked her if he could jerk off in front of her and she went along with his requests, but later questioned his behavior and said she went along with it because of the "culture"

2)

Period: 2002

Involved: Dana Goodman & Julia Wolov (comedians who performed at the arts festival).

Incident:Following the U.S. Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen, Colorado, he invited them back to his hotel room to celebrate since all the bars were closed. He asked if he could take out his penis and they laughed thinking it was a joke. He actually did, masturbated, and Dana/Julia said they felt "paralyzed" and were "laughing and screaming in shock." They reported the incident to others and Charna Halpern (owner of improv theaters the 2 performed at) who didn't know what to tell them to do. They then apparently were being intimidated by Dave Becky (Louis CK's manager) who had contacted their manager. Dana and Julia claim Mr. Becky had warned them about talking about the incident.

3)

Period: 2003

Involved: Abby Schachner (had a show that she wanted to invite him to)

Incident: She called him to invite him to her show and she claims that he was masturbating while on the phone call. She said the conversation became inappropriate and that she wasn't encouraging it and didn't know how to end it.

Aftermath: He apologized 6 years later (2009)in a Facebook message and said it was a bad time in his life.

4)

Period: 2005

Involved: Rebecca Corry (was appearing with him in a TV pilot)

Incident: He asked her if he could jerk off in front of her and she declined.

Aftermath: He later apologized (in 2015), but he misremembered the incident and mentioned something to her about shoving her in the bathroom (which didn't happen to her). She corrected him and he said he used to "misread people" (speaking of the actual incident).

Reading some of these posts you would think it was a bunch of christian conservatives lamenting over their favorite family values priest, politician, pastor, etc. that has just been outed as a pedophile closet homosexual, and some are even willing too look past it because they can't stand to see their sacred cow being gored by reality.

Ok that makes way more sense now. That's how I would expect these ladies to respond. Its such a crazy situation that you have to initially laugh at the sheer absurdity of what you're seeing.

So if some dude pulled his dick out and just started jerking it in front of your wife or daughter you'd laugh it off as an innocent mistake? Because he asked first doesn't make it innocent.

We might have different definitions of the word innocent.

We might have different definitions of the word innocent.

We might, considering he asked permission in all but one case (#3), and even then, that reads as the least confirmed out of all four. In your hypothetical, the dude just whips it out in front of, who I assume, would be a minor. When did Louis C.K. whip it out in front of a minor? You're looking for someone to make an example of, Louis C.K. isn't it (at least, not until there's more than we haven't heard of yet). He clearly has (had?) a problem and it sounds like he's gotten help for it and he feels remorse for that period of his life, more than ten years ago. Until the reports of him sexually assaulting and preying on women regularly for the past 20 years come out, I'm reserving such harsh judgement on the guy.

Don't get me wrong, using his power to even approach women in this manner is disgusting, but people can change. If he recognized he had a problem in the early/mid-2000s and corrected it, good for him. I hope more women come out with their stories, but let's try to save the pitchforks for those who truly deserve them. There's a flood of these stories coming out now; you can't simply believe every single one without question.

Case 1:
he asked her if he could jerk off in front of her and she went along with his requests

Case 2:
He asked if he could take out his penis and they laughed thinking it was a joke.

Case 3:
She called him to invite him to her show and she claims that he was masturbating while on the phone call.

Case 4:
He asked her if he could jerk off in front of her and she declined.

And assuming the accusations are true, while undoubtedly also arguing that the accusations against Roy Moore are false...
She said the same as most of the Repub congress critters, if he's guilty, he should drop out...all while calling CK a pig and a typical Hollywood liberal.

I've been a fan, but it's a shame for how smart he is he didn't heed Tig's advice and get his shit together sooner on this.

Now he's just another asshole that I won't be watching.

Agreed. He definitely crossed a line...but this is not the same ballpark (at least current allegations).

What is worse, asking a woman for sex or asking to masturbate in front of them?

Honestly I have spent much of my life positively BEGGING for sex. I have to go through all sorts of hoops to get sex out of my wife; ie: taking out the trash, giving back rubs, painting the bedroom, etc... Lets face it, men seem to NEED sex much more than women seem to want it.
