I was wondering when this was going to hit. There have been rumblings a few times in the last year or so that never seemed to get any traction. With the political climate post Weinstein I was shocked they hadn't resurfaced (and to be honest hoping they weren't true as I really have enjoyed his comedy).

Seems his time has run out.

I like his comedy...but clearly he has issues and I am glad these women are exposing them so it can stop. Does make his work seem somewhat hypocritical.

Not surprised. It's a shame that he's a disgusting pig, but it's not really a surprise. Great comedy though.

What would sadden me, would be women coming forward concerning Jonathan Winters. Now that would hurt.

god damn it, Louis. Your creepy-honest jokes about chronic masturbation were only funny because we didn't think you were a truly filthy disgusting old man chronically masturbating (on or at women) IRL.

nothing is sacred anymore.

Something about him was always off for me. One more POS for the career trash bin.

It's not been a good week for middle aged white men.

I'm completely bummed. I have loved Louis CK's humor but if he is guilty he must pay the consequence.

I was just talking to my husband the other night about why these men just don't seem to be able to show restraint or seemingly keep it in their pants. What is that? Seriously, most women barely want to or won't watch their significant other masturbate. Keep it private gentlemen. For the most part keep it a solo act unless a women is [strangely] asking to watch. Masturbation is natural of course but KEEP IT SOLO! Go ahead and make the assumption no one wants to watch it, it's the safest bet.

Geezuz Louis! Yuck!

I love Louis CK. He has always seemed like such a wise, humane, brutally honest and dead nuts funny observer of the human condition. His relationship with his children on his show always seemed deeply loving and caring without ever being too saccharine.

I am deeply bummed by these revelations, some of which I had read about a few weeks ago somewhere.

Feet of clay, man, feet of clay. I hope his career survives.

However, I also don't want to turn a blind eye to, or in any way discount, the plight of all these young women vs powerful males in show biz (and politics, and, well, everywhere) all these years. This is a necessary correction that is taking place. :(

Really? As an aside you don't want to turn a blind eye to the victims but really hope he has his career?

What if one of them were your niece, would you tell her that you really hope that he gets no punishment and has a good career but haven't quite fully forgotten about her plight?

I hope that if it's true that he ends up in jail. I have no secondary thoughts on the matter except that his victims will get justice for what he did to them.

You're an arsehole.

Same for me. I've liked some of his stuff, but as time has gone on he's gotten worse. I think the reality is that as he became more popular, he became more untouchable so we saw more of the real him come out. I always thought the worst thing about his stuff has been him. Like whenever he tries to be self-deprecating he just comes off like a piece of shit. And on his show, Pamela Adlon stole the show, as did pretty much all the ancillary characters, Louie was just there, and the only joys were that he was such an awkward piece of shit that it was somewhat humorous for him to get some comeuppance over it. Many of his points were hardly the salient profundity that people tried to claim it was. Especially when it dismissed any real inspection (like the "everything's amazing and everybody is miserable" where he rightly points out how even though we live in a ridiculously privileged modern world, it doesn't make us happy, but he doesn't even attempt to consider why that is; why the inflight wifi not working pisses someone off - because we know its completely capable of working properly and it not actually bursts our bubble of being amazed by the modern world as it reminds us, the potential is amazing, but we've still got problems that can be worked out - and instead of just buckling down and working them out we get assholes going trying to dismiss it as being spoiled or entitled or some other nonsense).

Did I miss a paragraph somewhere?
The dude gets off by masterbating in front of hot women, women he asks for permission first?
What else?

Its not really about sexual gratification. Its about them exerting power. By forcing a woman to watch, they're commanding power over them.

I think its the same thing that leads to serial killers, but what separates them is that serial killers can't get off (literally, they're often impotent with regards to "normal" sex), and end up finding out the violence/killing is what does it for them.

If I were a standup comedian, I'd even make a joke about how, Viagra is incredibly important, because when men can't get erections it makes them escalate into murder. Hell, I wonder if you couldn't make the case, kinda like they did between abortion and dropping crime rates, and Viagra and wars, where we've had a relative peace after Viagra enabled old white guys to be able to get erections from a simple pill so it keeps them from channeling their aggression into wars. I might even predict that in the future, for pedophiles and sexual predators, we'll probably have elaborate VR setups with robots that milk them to keep them from acting on their impulses. It'd be more humane than sterilization.

I feel like this should be a crime, but I can't figure out what it is. It's not rape or sexual battery if there is no touching of the victim. It isn't indecent exposure if it isn't done in public. Anyone know what criminal statute would apply here?

He doesn't ask for permission. The rumors are that he invites them up to his room, locks the door and/or blocks them from leaving and then makes them watch.

Not sure what the article in the OP actually says, but that's the allegations I've seen rumored about.

OJ was busted for kidnapping for not letting people leave a room I believe.

The hypocrisy here is a little irritating. The guy rants about all the bullshit he sees in America and now he's on the sexual predators list too.

OJ had a gun that he used to keep them there. AFAIK these women have not said he did anything to physically prevent them from leaving.

It's weird, but possible that no crime was committed here. Might depend on which state it occurred in as different states have different definitions of indecent exposure.

Wait, wiat, wait. You guys are just now hearing about this? These rumors are years old. I remember hearing some murmurs of them before the Cosby stuff blew up even.

Also, sorry I don't. His new movie they cancelled the premier of? It included a scene referencing the masturbation claims (some character makes another watch them masturbate - I believe without any implied consent, like the character just whips out their dick and starts jacking off), and also largely about the claims about Woody Allen and the general "old white guy in power being able to take advantage of young attractive women" trope. He's showing the same complete lack of empathy and awareness that Woody Allen has, which has goaded both of them into actively pushing the issue like its just some joke about PC culture or society being too up tight. Its fucking disgusting.
