Do not turn my thread into a Muslim bashing thread. There are plenty of those around. This is meant for Israel-Palestine debate

Now that Hamas has won the elections, do you feel as if they should have a chance to govern?

I did not look at the video but read the article.

The comments and timing imply that Hamas may not be interested in changing their spots.

If the Hamas leadership continues to operate from Syria, that will be another indication that they do not want to assist in the peace process. Hiding in Syria allows them to avoid the responsibility of active leadership and accept the repercussions of the martyrs.

They can/will state that they are afraid of Israel targetting them if they come into the West Bank or Gaza.

However, their actions speak louder than their words with respect to the handling of the situtation.

If they do not want peace; then Israel will target them and possibly outside the Palestinian territories.

Seriously though...

Hamas has a helluva an oppurtunity right now to gain some legitimacy, and I'd like to see them "change their stripes," but both sides have repeatedly threw thier oppurtunities to the wind.
