Hamachi

Trying to play Age of Empires on Hamachi, I have Windows 7 beta and the friend I'm trying to play with has XP, on our Hamachi network I can ping him but he cannot ping me, I have done everything on this thread (http://www.sevenforums.com/network-sharing/4208-hamachi-network-priorities.html), and still nothing, any help?

Azeroth, check out Tunngle. I've been using hamachi for a while, just switched over to tunngle. Slightly harder to setup (PM me if you need help) but its amazing and works great.

There could be a ping (request/echo) filter on the machine you are checking ping from. Check the firewall/filters on this box.

What's it like for file sharing?

I used to use Hamachi for Starcraft & a little file sharing, but I see now you have to pay for a version that does sharing (beyond the 14day trial anyway).

Why do you need Hamachi for AoE? Doesn't that game support direct connections over TCP/IP as long as the correct ports are opened?

I used to use Hamachi for Starcraft & a little file sharing, but I see now you have to pay for a version that does sharing (beyond the 14day trial anyway).

The 14 day trail is for corporate use. You can share all you want... just make sure sharing is enabled on windows and you can access the other computer via \\IPADDRESS.
