Hamachi VPN alternatives

Hey everyone.

Seems hamachi seems to be failing more and more.
I can't even play a game of WC3 on it anymore.

I was hoping someone could name some alternatives for me.
I tried openVPN, but I had no idea howto go about setting it up.
