Hamachi Problems

Me and my friend are trying to use Hamachi for Dark Crusade, but due to a recent event (http://forums.anandtech.com/me...d=38&threadid=2149971), I have to stay at his place. We don't have an Ethernet cable that will reach both of our PCs so we are trying to use Hamachi.

Is there a way we can both play Dark Crusade on Hamachi while on the same network? I am on Wireless at the moment and he is on the router.

if you're on the same physical network, why in hell would you need hamachi, a VPN?

unless you are hijacking a neighbor's wireless connection... your computers should be able to see each other on the network without hamachi.......

We tried to use a Direct Join and Direct Host. I found my friend's game, but when I tried to join it, it said that we have connection issues.

which version of hamachi are you running? run this version. Hamachi version 1.0.1.5 is the best version for playing games from my experience.

from all the games i've tried playing, this is the only version where all games worked.

When you tried to use a different version, did it say that you had connection issues or that your firewall/router was not configured properly?

I will get that version and have my friend get that as well and see what happens.

wow still having trouble? try running the network setup wizard on both computers, I know it sounds useless but this is sometimes the key to getting 2 computers to see each other, particularly if both are running XP.

But the thing is, he got his Hamachi to work with Titan Quest, Neverwinter Nights 2, and many other games when his brother was home from college. He was also able to use Hamachi with one of our friends not too long ago. When they both signed onto Hamachi, they could see each other. When I sign on, I don't see him and he doesn't see me. So it seems to me that it is a problem with Hamachi.

Did you happen to notice he had the problem back in Feb? I bet by now he's fixed it or moved on to another solution.
