I take the HAM exam in the morning. I've been practicing all the practice tests over @ qrz.com and have been getting 85%+ on all of them. Anything else I should know before I head in for the test?

Also do we have any HAM operators on AT?

Edit:

Passed with a 96%. QRZ.com practice tests are the way to go.

Also, what the hell is a HAM operator?

KB8ZEU here (Technician). Got my license when I was 9... it ran out 3 years ago. Never found much use; all I could do was talk with people. I did talk to someone in Florida from my parents' place in Michigan, though, via a repeater network (2M band).

The test is easy enough; I got 100% when I was 9. :p

My friend is also a local HAM, and talking with him will be my primary use. I also intend on joining up with a RACES group, and help in the event of a disaster.

KL1XF (General). I got my license about a year ago. I used the QRZ practice tests and a book.

If you haven't found it already, eham.net is a nice amateur radio news site. Really nice flamewars too.

Ya I'm beginning to think HAMs are more opinionated than the people in P&N.

Technician shouldn't be hard to pass if you posess a small amount of intelligence. I studied the morning of the test for a few hours and scored a 98%.

then again, Technician isn't much of a test. get your novice at minimum.
