So I just recently got some hardwood flooring done in the house. It's legit bamboo. Normally, we spray every quarter or so for some annoying pest bugs that make their way into the house. It definitely seems to help.

However, since we now have hardwood instead of complete shit carpet, I am a little reluctant to just spray. Does anyone know if it is dangerous to spray the hardwood in anyway? We use exterminator grade stuff that basically kills everything - we aren't talking Raid cans here. It's called Demon WP.

Just in general actually, I'm not sure how dangerous a wet shoe is on the hardwood. Will it just dry up or will it tarnish the hardwood?

Instead of spraying inside, spray outside.

I spray my house every year as it is not the most air tight and gets tons of spiders and other bugs. I spray Cyonara 9.7 around the entire perimiter of the house, especially near windows. I see maybe 1-2 spiders at most per summer and the occasional centipede. They're usually already dead by the time I find them.

Have people been getting bitten by spiders or insects in your home, or is there some serious infestation going on? Dousing the inside of a home every few months with chemicals seems rather extreme to me. I agree with spraying the perimeter if there is a problem.

Yeah I know lol. And it totally works. Only place I can get it is ebay though. It's probably illegal, but it damn well works! Based on the label it does not look like it's all that bad for the environment as long as it does not get into lakes and such.

TIL that people regularly spray their entire house with pesticides.

OP, I used to use Demon but have switched over to Transport. Bugs can detect the Demon but not the Transport so they walk right through it ... and die. Try a fine spray around your baseboards and about a foot out.

If you're worried about the hardwood, you can use a powder, such as Drione. Use a mask of course, and a small hand pump to cloud places like vents, molding, insides of cabinets, eaves , inside electrical outlets, etc. Not the most pet/child friendly approach, since lasts a long while. But... It lasts a long while :) Don't use it for large areas, unless you like it on your feet and in your lungs when you vacuum.

You're also going to want to seal whatever ways bugs can use to get in the house. Pay particular attention to basement windows , crawlspaces, cellar doors, tops of exposed cinderblock, etc.
