Halo is one intensive game for the graphic card. I think they need to optimize that game because it doesn't look all that great and is slow as hell. I've tested that game with a Radeon 9800 and a 5900 and I get slow down when there is lots of action at 1280x1024 res with no AA/AF. My machine with the 5600 ultra can only play it decently at 800x600.

Turn specular off, run at a lower resolution. I know, it's not really a solution, but it works...

The game is badly optimized for PC hardware. I think max payne 2 looks at least as good, and it just blazes along on my RADEON8500.

The game ran fine on my TI4200. I just turned off AA/AF, ran at 1024x760, and turned specular off. Game still looked very good and ran very smooth.

Turn on the "FPS=30" option in the menu. I can play at 800x600 with a GF3, all details at maximum level.

They work damn good too I might ad. All the fog/light/shadow issues are fixed and rendered correctly.

I just fired up Halo on my new 5900, and it slows down bigtime. I've never seen a game so poorly optimized. I hope they get a patch out quick.

Hmm, run more benchmarks while I wait, or buy another game...
