Just finished this game last night after finally getting another Xbox 360 and man what an ending. I had no idea it was a prequel to the original Halo until they started talking about the "A.I." and the Pillar of Autumn. The narration when it shows your helmet on the recovering Reach was awesome.

Side note about the game if anyone might have an answer.

I don't own Halo Reach but my friends had a small Halo night last Friday and I played. We logged 4 of us in to play 4 player online multiplayer and we kept trying to connect and it said that we didn't have the necessary map packs to play online. I'm assuming they're requiring you to buy these map packs to play online? Really weird. There was nothing we could do but exit out...sucked.

I haven't been in the HALO universe in quite a while. I skipped the one before that.
Thinking about picking this up to have some fun before BF3 and MW3 release.

I got Halo Reach the day it was released and it's superb stuff. It didn't take me all that long to complete it the first time around and I only did it on Legendary the once, but I have probably done a complete run-though on Heroic about six times since then.

My favourite FPS game at the moment on any platform. Does anyone else read the Halo books?

Yes, they have some great literature in the Halo world. Good games, good reads.

Ya, that's the feeling I got from it. Fighting to the end no matter what the odds are.

If I remember correctly, you can play 4 player couch co-op. Online 4 player play is limited to just FFA. That was a long time ago though, so maybe you were trying to join a lobby that wasn't compatible?

After the total let down that was ODST SP, I can't stomach another Halo game. I guess you have to be in love with the lore and universe, the weapons feel so bad the aliens are cheesy. I have co-oped all of them up until Reach though.

They improved it A LOT over ODST. The aliens aren't all giddy and happy go lucky..they are mean as hell.

Yeah, they took it back to the original, when you actually worried about facing certain races. I think the story in Reach was a lot of fun, I enjoyed it the few times I played through.

Reach is great. 2nd best multiplayer of the series IMO. Bungie put way too many of those custom maps up on team slayer. The original release multiplayer maps are the best, but everyone picks these cookie cutter boring maps.

The campaign is good, but that part of shooters isn't how I judge them.
