Halo: Reach Speculation

With the nearing release of Halo 3: ODST, there has not been a lot of info on the Halo: Reach multiplayer beta that comes included with it. But because there is a multiplayer beta for Halo: Reach, I'm assuming that they are going to make some pretty substantial changes to the multiplayer gameplay and test the waters with the beta.

My speculations:

- Higher player count (16v16 or 32v32?)
- Class-based (assault, sniper, support, etc.)
- Squads
- Larger battlefields (dropping off people via Pelicans, anyone?)
- Battlefield-esque gameplay (capture control points) but probably other modes as well

So essentially, I'm speculating that this game is more or less like Battlefield 2 but in the Halo universe. Am I on the right track?

*This is based on what I know about the time period during The Fall of Reach

I think the real answer is nobody knows. Unfortunately the beta isn't happening until next year, but you can be sure we'll hear a lot about the game once Christmas comes and goes. I'd guess either BF like gameplay or more Call of Duty - ish.

You mean like... Battlefield 2142? ;)

Oh yes, right right. 2142 :)

If they do have customizable loadouts and a game mode where you can attack capital ships ala Titan Mode, that would be so bad ass!

If it were like 2142, I would buy it in a heartbeat. If it's typical Halo MP, I will never buy it.

Given the different silhouettes of the Spartans in the Halo Reach logo, different classes seems to be a good bet. Halo: ODST is moving in that direction already in the single-player portion.

Hopefully, it's not multiplayer-centric to the detriment of the single player campaign.
