Halo PC worth it?

I just placed a pre-order. Now I am thinking whether its actually going to be a good game or not? Some AT'ers have told me that it sucks. Can I have some opinions please? Thanks.

Edit: Asking because this is last minute chance to cancel order and change mind.

It's a waste, because it's a 2-3? year old game with outdated graphics, sound etc. Plus the PC is loaded with FPS games, so there really isn't a reason to buy halo for the pc.

Why did you buy it then ask this question?

To answer your question, yes, it will be worth it for online multi-player.

But then again, why get this when UT2003 and Unreal Tournament 2004 are coming out?

I couldn't really get into my Xbox version of the game - damn controllers (though System Link is an absolute blast). I'm really enjoying the PC version right now, though the performance on my system is pretty brutal.

See this General Hardware thread which discusses, with benchmarks, the performance of Halo on a number of system configs. 🙂

i dont know what ur talking aobut, im on a athlon 1ghz with a radeon 7200, running it just fine, though im sure it would look better with a dx9 card. if you played through it on the xbox, dont bother, its the same thing, unless you think its worth it for the multiplayer.... which i havnt played on pc or xbox

Fun game to play. Story keeps you entertained. But the levels are so long and redundant. There are better FPS for the PC. Maybe the multiplayer will make this game a good buy.
