halo and vid card problem

Fresh windows xp install with my new AMD 64 system and a known good bfg 6800 nu card.

All demos, games play fine except HALO.

I get this image in the pause between multiplayer games and the game crashes. First I get some texture corruption like memory is bad, and then the game crashes to this blue screen. Gameplay during the game is 100% great, no issues there whatsoever.

Problem

I've tried the latest beta drivers, the drivers on nvidias site (61.77, 66.81, and the 70.41 drivers and all exhibit the same problem). I have direct x 9.0c loaded as well.

This is a problem some of the people on my halo clan face as well. None of us have 6800's, but it's happened to me (radeon 9600 pro) and a few other people with ati/nvidia cards.

It happens randomly and hardly anymore. Do you have the full version of Halo? Are you playing Halo CE?

full version, not halo ce. Its a legit store bought copy also
