Halo 4 footage

That would have been really smart. I imagine it will sell well regardless, but I know I personally am not interested since it isn't Bungie.

At least we finally have a Halo that doesn't look like everyone is running around with Taiwanese NERF knock-offs.

i think it looks interesting. i'm staying optimistic for now 🙂

wonder about the story, wonder if it will involve precursors or maybe more flood and graveminds.

Lost interest in halo years back, but that video is not bad, makes me look forward to it to be honest. Maybe pick it up when price drops to $30 🙂

I have high hope for this. I'm a huge Halo fan so I'm really looking forward to the new story and new MP ideas.

I also believe that the next Halo will be a Next-Xbox launch title. From the interviews and media we're hearing out of 343 Studio's Halo 4 is mechanically, they are just fine tuning and putting all the pieces together. Which is great, months of time to fine tune, but that also means they have a HUGE engineering team with the backing of the biggest financial backing of any console player. I'm sure they are developing an engine for the new hardware and because they are planning on a new trilogy I'm sure they've got a story arch done, so a lot of time saved there.

TL;DR: I'm excited.

lost interest when they decided to keep the franchise completely console exclusive. I didn't mind waiting for Halo 1 and 2 for PC, but that's where I stopped, because I simply don't care about Halo enough to buy an XBox, even though I think the campaign story actually rivals the likes of Half Life as far as SciFi shooters go (or at least it did, don't know how things have gone since Halo 2)

it will most likely involve the forrunners not the precursors as they are the basis for most of what is out there in the universe.

Doesn't look like anything special to me but who knows by the time it launches. As it stands right now, there isn't much after ME3 that I'm looking forward to playing.

I'm approaching it with guarded optimism. I personally think ditching the battle rifle was the best thing Bungie did in Reach, as the DMR requires a lot more skill in my opinion, so I'm not exactly wild about its return.

I just want it to be good because I am sick of all the COD-clones. I also want a loadout system for Halo 4 because I am freaking sick of wanting to play just regular, classic CTF or TDM and getting stuck playing nothing but Shotty Snipers or DMRs only or some other niche mode. Sadly, pretty sure it won't happen.

It's sad because I love the Halo mechanics. I love CTF with the vehicles, I love the combat mechanics (AR+frag+melee), and I love the design and style. I just hate the lack of choice in matchmaking. Everything is bundled together, and democracy never seems to agree with me. I wish Halo would adopt the multitude of specific playlists like Modern Warfare (ie, standard playlist, hardcore playlist, not lump all the objective modes into a single playlist, not lump all the niche modes into the standard playlists) and loadout system, but keep the rest of the Halo mechanics as is.

is it just me that has a bad opinion about the new Halo.... this this genre of games passed the "like" side of gaming

can't say anything related to halo gets me excited anymore.

Ya, it's always space marines in goofy cliche armor fighting purple and green aliens with non-threatening weapons. The first was novel, but they milked it to death. Xbox kiddies eat this crap up for some reason.

Halo has always really annoyed me with the enormous disconnect between their marketing / full CG videos of the game and the actual gameplay itself. Serious versus silly, adult versus childish. Sort of wish someone would call Bungie out and tell them for all the "epicness" they pretend to create, they're really making games that a 10-year-old wouldn't be wowed by.

Halo: Reach at least had a bit of emotional resonance with its ending and the doomed from the start scenario.

Looks ok to me. Halo 2 was where it was at - it was the best multiplayer experience you could get (and if it was still available on Live, it would still rank way up there) and hasn't been beaten by 3 or Reach. Reach was decent but the mechanics were just perfect in 2, they really goofed up.

If those mechanics return, I welcome them.

I didn't play Halo until the later end of 3 but I heard the downfall of Halo 2 was the rampant cheating that went unchecked.
