Halo 3 update destoys my solo campaign!

So, I havent played Halo 3 for a bit. Went Live Gold lastnight so I can play my friends online. Pop in H3 disc, XBL says there is a update, I install update, run game, get to menu, click on "Resume Solo Campaign" get a load screen, then some weird static picture with garbled text on the upper left of screen, then I get thrown back to main menu. Restart console, reload game, same shit. Tried everything. Eventually I had to delete my saved game and start from scratch. Pissed me off because I was nearly done with the game. Had to start all over again. This happen to anyone else?

Fack, I hope this isn't widespread. I just downloaded the update the other day. I thought rock band was in there but Halo 3 booted up instead. It asked to update so I figured I might as well.

*edit* Don't have my disc here to check it. 🙁

Heh. I can't even play Halo 3 right now. My disc got too dirty (I blame kids) so when I tried to put the game in the other night to try the new maps, it wouldn't read.

Need to go buy one of those disc cleaners since my normal baby wipe trick isn't working.

Those skipDR things are terrible, don't bother with them.

I have the same problem. I just gave up, since I was only going to play through it just because I bought it. I have a copy of the save on a memory card in case they fix the issue. If not, I'll never bother playing it again. My save is stuck in a loop of me instantly dying then dropping back to the menu.

I wasn't going to go with one of them. Just a regular DVD cleaner. I got to do something cause the disc is a mess and a baby wipe and even a lint-free rag and water is not working.

I get great results with a very soft white eraser and lens cloth. Rub the scratches lightly and buff with the lens cloth. Never failed me. Disc Dr just shreds the disc to hell, even parts that are not scratched. And then you have to polis the whole freaking disc. Ug, rather just buy a new game than deal with that.

Oh, it's not even scratches though. It's like a film of gunk that's clouded up the entire disc.

Spray some water on it and rub in a clockwise motion with a microfiber cloth or snot rag until the water is mopped, then get another dry cloth or snot rag and buff. Rinse (literally) and repeat gently until its nice and shiny 🙂
