Hadn't seen this posted yet - Bungie finally released the render video feature of Bungie Pro.

The videos look great, but the terms of the service aren't as great as I was hoping for.
- You're allowed 5 'minutes' of rendered video per month
- The time of the video is rounded up to the next highest minute, so a 10 second clip costs you 1 minute
- HD video costs 5 minutes per minute, so a 10 second HD clip costs you 5 minutes
- You can purchase 10 minute blocks of time for 100 MSP ($1.25)... except that feature isn't enabled yet.

I can understand the limit on how much you can render, but some rounding to the nearest minute is not really... customer friendly. It's not as if there is significant overhead in starting the rendering process; the vast majority of effort is in the actual rendering, which increases linearly with time.

I can also understand charging more for HD rendering, because it obviously takes more time to do the rendering. But it would be a lot more customer friendly if they did the multiplication BEFORE the rounding, so that a 12 second clip would only cost you 1 minute of rendering time (12 seconds * 5 == 1 minute). Instead it's 12 seconds rounded to 1 minute, *5 = 5 minutes. Your whole month's allocation for a 12 second clip...

Really, I would have preferred to have the rendering done by the game rather than by Bungie's servers so all of this would be a non-issue... the Theater is such a great feature that is hampered by stupid restrictions.
