Well I plan to run Vista so no big deal for me. Not that I really care about Halo 2 anyway.

While I like Bungie (Marathon series rocked), Halo and Halo 2 aren't good enough to move to Vista. You guys can beta test Vista for me. Call me when Vista SP1 comes out and most of the bugs are gone.

meh, been waiting for it to be ported for the pc and this happens. i really enjoyed playing halo1 using my pc. bah, gotta buy t3h xbox

I was just thinking a few days ago, 'when are they gonna port Halo 2 to the PC?'. And now it just doesn't even matter anymore. Does he honestly think he can force people to upgrade to Vista for Halo 2? It runs on DX8 hardware for christ's sake, and isn't Vista/DX10 supposed to only be able to emulate 9/8/7 via software? Mr. Gates, I love your software, but you sir, are a Nazi fvcking asshole.

Windows XP was in good shape when it was released and I think a lot of people around here upgraded very soon after it was released. Why would you expect Vista to be that much different?

I doubt this will be an issue since I expect most gamers will end up going to Vista anyway.

I would think that a nVidia beta tester like yourself would be more interested in the new stuff, as opposed to wanting to wait until a the finished product is completely polished. Actually, I'm surprised you aren't running a beta version of Vista already, is nVidia still beta testing the 7800GTX 512, which is about to be replaced by the 7900's, on XP...? Sounds a bit odd to be beta testing hardware that is close to the end of it's product life cycle on an OS that is also nearing the end of it's product life cycle...

Personally, I don't use my rig for anything mission critical, and I'll probably buy Vista early on because I'm intrigued.

As far as Halo2 only running on Vista... not really a compelling reason in itself to switch to Vista, but like I said, I'm going to get it anyway because I'm been looking at XP for long enough.
